South-Eastern Europe Brigade Multinational Peace Force

  A Farewell and Medal Ceremony was conducted for Chief G5, LTC Nikolay PARVANOV (Na-2), who completed his tour of duty within SEEBRIG HQ. The event took place in Camp SCHINA Mess Hall, on 13 Sep 2019, with the participation of all SEEBRIG personnel. In recognition of his achievements and efforts made during his tour of duty, the officer was awarded with the SEEBRIG Accomplishment Medal and Certificate of Appreciation, in accordance with SEEBRIG HQ regulations.
   Moreover, 1st LT Vasileios SAMARAS and SGT Leonidas GELALIS, from 1st Hellenic Army music band, were awarded with Certificates of Appreciation for their contribution to SEEBRIG’s 20th Anniversary dinner, that took place at Hotel “Imperial”, on 30th Aug 2019.

   The HOTO of South-East Europe Defense Ministerial Coordination Committee/ Political-Military Steering Committee (SEDM-CC/ PMSC) Chairmanship and the 20th SEEBRIG Anniversary ceremonies took place on 30th August 2019 at Camp “SCHINA”, Tyrnavos/Larissa.
   Na-3 Ambassador Mr. Eleftherios ANGHELOPOULOS handed over SEDM-CC/ PMSC chairmanship to Mr. Petro KOCI (Deputy Minister of Defense of Na-1).  
   Many distinguished guests took part in both events. Among the guests were Deputy Ministers of Defense (MoD) from Na-1 and Na-2, representative of MoD from Na-6 and Na-7, Deputy Chiefs of Defense from Na-2, Na-3, Na-5 and Na-6, diplomats, senior and higher ranked officers and personnel from SEEBRIG member nations, Ser-bia, Ukraine, Montenegro, Italy and Croatia.
    After both chairmen and COMSEEBRIG delivered their speeches, the new chairman Mr. Petro KOCI awarded the outgoing SEDM-CC/PMSC secretariat with SEEBRIG accomplishment medals whereas COMSEEBRIG presented them with certif-icates of appreciation. Moreover, COMSEEBRIG presented certificates of appreciation and plaques to former leaders of the Brigade, Commanders and Chiefs of Staff. The event was concluded with the parade of SEEBRIG personnel and host nation troops. In the evening, the 20th SEEBRIG Anniversary dinner took place at Imperial Hotel in Larissa.

On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of SEEBRIG, in the memory of two former commanders of SEEBRIG who passed away and to recognize their contribution two of the briefing rooms in SEEBRIG HQ were named after them.

The main Briefing room of the SEEBRIG HQ will carry the name “General ZORLU” after the first commander LTG Hilmi Akın ZORLU (Na-7), who worked to establish the Multinational Peace Force South-Eastern Europe (MPFSEE) in 1999.

The Operational/TOC briefing room will carry the name “General NENOV” after MG Neyko NENOV (Na-2), who led SEEBRIG HQ during operation in Afghanistan in 2006.

The ceremony was held with participation of all SEEBRIG HQ personnel who observed moments of silence for the two late Commanders. COMSEEBRIG BG Tudorica PETRACHE with SNRs from Na-2, LTC Dobril RADOSLAVOV,  and Na-7,  COL Murat VURAL unveiled the honorary plaques and addressed the staff with summaries of the two Generals careers' achievements.

            The event took place in Camp SCHINA Mess Hall, on 20 August 2019, with the participation of all SEEBRIG personnel. In recognition of their achievements and efforts made during their tours of duty, the officers were awarded with the SEEBRIG Accomplishment Medals and Certificates of Appreciation, in accordance with SEEBRIG HQ regulations.

  A Farewell and Medal Ceremony was conducted for G1 Plans Officer, CPT Yunus KUTLU (Na-7 ) and G8 Clerk, 2nd LT Christos DIAMANTAKOS (Na-3), who completed their tour of duty within SEEBRIG HQ.
  The event took place in Camp SCHINA Mess Hall, on 26 July 2019, with the participation of all SEEBRIG personnel. In recognition of their achievements and efforts made during their tours of duty, the officers were awarded with the SEEBRIG Accomplishment Medal and Certificate of Appreciation.

   Pursuing a  tradition established among the SEEBRIG HQ foreign personnel, seeking to better understand the culture and the language of the countries participating in this initiative, a Host Nation Language Course (A1 Level) was organized by the HQ between 05 February and 03 July 2019.
   In order to mark the successful completion of the course, a ceremony was organized in Camp Schina on 17 July 2019 with the participation of COMSEEBRIG, the HQ staff and the language instructor from the International Community School of Larissa.

  On 18th of June 2019, COL Sotirios RIGOPOULOS assumed his duties as new Chief of Staff (COS) of SEEBRIG, after replacing COL Andreas DOULIS.
  Commander of SEEBRIG, Brigadier General Tudorică PETRACHE along with the rest of SEEBRIG personnel welcomed the new COS and wished him success in his new duties.

  The event took place in Camp SCHINA Mess Hall, on 19 June 2019, with the participation of all SEEBRIG personnel. In recognition of their achievements and efforts made during their tours of duty, the officer and the NCO were awarded with the SEEBRIG Accomplishment Medal and Certificate of Appreciation.
