South-Eastern Europe Brigade (SEEBRIG) - formation established by seven participating nations in order to contribute to the regional security and stability in the Euro-Atlantic area

Civil Military Cooperation Training, 22-25 June 2021, Kumanovo/Na-5

From 22nd to 25th of June 2021 a Mobile Training Team provided by MPSOTC Kilkis/Na-3, consisting of Major Dimitrios MANOLOPOULOS and Major Savvas CHRYSOULIDIS, conducted a “Civil Military Cooperation Training” for SEEBRIG HQ at “Zanatski Dom” in Kumanovo/Na-5. The use of the training venue was graciously offered free of charge by the Mayor of Kumanovo, Mr. Maksim DIMITRIEVSKI.

COMSEEBRIG BG Aristeidis ILIOPOULOS welcomed the instructors during the office call and after a short introduction, he announced the beginning of the training course, the first collective training activity in HQ SEEBRIG’s new location.

The purpose of the training was to enhance HQ personnel knowledge and skills in order to be capable to fulfil SEEBRIG’s mission, during employment in conflict prevention and in other peace support operations, including peace-keeping, peace-making, peace-building and humanitarian operations. Furthermore, with the intention of strengthening the relations with the local community, 4 civilian representatives of the municipality of Kumanovo took part in the training along with HQ personnel.

During the Course, participants obtained the theoretical background on issues relevant to NATO CIMIC doctrines, Tactics, Techniques and Procedures. Additionally, trainees had the opportunity to carry out exercises, divided in syndicates, where they organized and ran a CIMIC Center, in a simulated operational environment and developed specific products.

At the end of the activity, a short closing ceremony took place, where the Mayor of Kumanovo was invited. COMSEEBRIG BG Aristeidis ILIOPOULOS congratulated the trainers for their high educational level and expressed his thanks to the Mayor of Kumanovo for the kind concession of the training venue and for the good cooperation with SEEBRIG HQ. Moreover, he underlined that the training was productive and fruitful for all the participants.
