South-Eastern Europe Brigade (SEEBRIG) - formation established by seven participating nations in order to contribute to the regional security and stability in the Euro-Atlantic area

SEEBRIG HQ’s study trip, 03 – 07 JUL 2022

According to SEEBRIG HQ Annual Plan, the personnel of SEEBRIG HQ and their families went through a Study Trip in south west part of North Macedonia.

The purpose of the activity was to be familiar with military installations/units and as well as to explore North Macedonia, its cultural heritage sights, natural beauties and tourist attractions in that part of the country, as it was the first study trip in last 2 years due to COVID-19 restrictions.

The trip started form Skopje and first stop was Sarena Dzamija (Painted Mosque) in Tetovo. After short presentation done from the Imam of the Mosque trip continued to Ohrid, where the personnel and their families were accommodated.

Next days, according scheduled program, SEEBRIG HQ personnel visited two of the military units of Na-5 Army, the artillery battalion in Prilep and the Water Training Camp in Ohrid, while the family members explore the beauties of Prilep and Ohrid. Presentation of the units and static demonstration of the equipment and capabilities were provided by their respective unit commanders.

During this trip the participants had the opportunities to enjoy beautiful places in the South West part of the country including the city of Krusevo and Memorial Center Todor Proevski, the city of Bitola and its museum, the archeological site Heraklea (Heraclea Lyncestis), the National Park Pelister and Prespa Lake and, through a boat trip on Ohrid Lake had a guided visit to the Bay of Bones and Saint Naum Monastery.

Last day was reserved for the visit of Ohrid old city, with a guided visit to the Ancient Theatre of Ohrid, Samoil’s Fortress and to the churches of Saint Clement and Panteleimon, Saint John the Theologian and Saint Sofia, followed by the visit to Saint John Bigorski monastery in Debar.

The study trip was appreciated as a success from all the participants and COMSEEBRIG express his thanks to the Host Nation for the way this trip was organized and how the personnel was received in all the visited places.
