Public Affairs & Disinformation Awareness Collective Training Course 12 – 14 December 2023, Kumanovo/Na-5
According to SEEBRIG Annual Plan 2023, a Mobile Training Team (MTT) from Public Affairs Regional Centre (PARC) organized a Public Affairs & Disinformation Awareness Collective Training Course for SEEBRIG HQ Nucleus Staff. The course was held from 12 to 14 December 2023, at “Zanatski Dom” Conference Hall in Kumanovo. Furthermore, 2 civilian representatives of the municipality of Kumanovo took part in the training along HQ personnel.
COM SEEBRIG BG Bilblil BITRI welcomed the instructors and after a short introduction, he announced the beginning of the training course, the fifth collective training activity for the current year.
Public Affairs (PA) describes an organization’s relationship with stakeholders. It is generally accepted that disinformation, misinformation and mal-information, together with propaganda, have a large effect in military operations and could mislead military personnel.
The aim of the Course was to enhance HQ Nucleus Staff knowledge, so that they will able to successfully deal with the media, to create awareness about the meaning and harmful impact of disinformation and to build institutional capacity and resilience.
A training team of 4 Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) provided the theoretical background and covered all the key dimensions of the issue. Moreover, designed a fictitious scenario, in order NS to get familiarized with media, to develop the specific skills required for effective interview as well as with procedures and techniques for an eventual upcoming crisis situation.
At the end of the aforementioned activity, COS of SEEBRIG HQ COL Zlatko GJORGJIOVSKI congratulated the instructors for their high educational level and he stressed that this intensive training was productive for all the participants.
