South-Eastern Europe Brigade (SEEBRIG) - formation established by seven participating nations in order to contribute to the regional security and stability in the Euro-Atlantic area

Participation in MAPLE ARCH 2017 Exercise, 16 Nov 17, Nowa Deba, Poland

COMSEEBRIG BG Tudorica PETRACHE (Na-6) and ADC MAJ Radu Amarie (Na-6) participated in Distinguished Visitor’s Day (DVD) activities of MAPLE ARCH 2017 Exercise on 16 November 2017, while CG5 LTC Nikolay PARVANOV (Na-2) and SECCOS LTC Abdullah GÜNDÜZ (Na-7) participated in the Exercise as observers from 13 to 16 November 2017 in Nowa Deba Training Area, Nowa Deba, Poland.

It was a computer-based multinational army exercise, conducted annually with Canada (CAN), Lithuania (LIT), Poland (POL) and Ukraine (UKR) with the total number of 460 personnel.
During the Exercise, participating Nations train headquarters (HQs) staff in commanding and controlling troops in simulated realistic scenarios, such as Peace Support Operations (PSOs), Humanitarian Assistance (HA) and Crisis Response (CR).
Exercise aim was to train Polsih and Ukrainian Battalion HQs for Peace Enforcement Operations (PEOs) under the leadership of LITPOLUKRBRIG and exercise objectives were to enhance interoperabilty, promote collective competence and confidence, practice staff procedures, test coordination, fluency and effectiveness.
SEEBRIG’s participation in this exercise enhanced the cooperation with LITPOLUKRBRIG and the two Brigades are looking for possible upcoming collaboration in common areas.
