Main Planning Conference for “SEESIM 18” Exercise, Istanbul (04-07 September 2018)

From 04 to 07 September, a SEEBRIG HQ delegation composed of two officers attended the Main Planning Conference (MPC) for the South-eastern Europe Simulation 2018 Exercise or briefly SEESIM 18. It will be the ninth Command Post/Computer Assisted Exercise (CPX/CAX) within the framework of the South-Eastern Europe Defense Ministerial (SEDM) process. The conference was hosted by Na7 at Multinational Joint Warfare Centre in Istanbul.

   This venue was the main planning event for SEESIM 18. The MPC was co-chaired by the Na6 MoD representative, and was attended by the military and civilian representatives from, Na3, Na5, Na6, Na7, Ukraine and SEEBRIG.
During the conference, SEEBRIG HQ representatives participated both in the Steering Group and Operational Working Group, it was discussed issues regarding the exercise planning process such as Scenario, MEL/MIL, Manning List and role, function and position of SEEBRIG HQ in exercise structure.
In Accordance with the exercise design, SEEBRIG HQ will be Secondary Training Audience (STA) and will act as a Response Cell (RC). SEEBRIG will participate with its Engineer Task Force and upon request will support both affected by an earthquake capitals, Athens and Ankara.
