South-Eastern Europe Brigade (SEEBRIG) - formation established by seven participating nations in order to contribute to the regional security and stability in the Euro-Atlantic area

Visit of SEEBRIG personnel to OSCE, Vienna 11- 14 March 2019

One SEEBRIG delegation headed by its Commander, BG Tudorică PETRACHE, conducted an official visit to OSCE High Level Planning Group (HLPG) in Vienna – Austria from 11 to 14 March 2019, based on invitation extended by the head of HLPG Col. Vladimir MINARIK. During the visit both sides provided information briefings and had a good opportunity to strengthen the cooperation, to get some fruitful insights for future exercises and workshops and to share lesson learned in the area of common interest.

On 12 March 2019, COMSEEBRIG had an office call with Deputy Director of OSCE Conflict Prevention Centre (CPC)/Operations Service Mr. Paul PICARD and SEEBRIG delegation received a briefing about the mandate, key tasks, operational outlook and main activities of this important centre.
Next day, on 13 March 2019, SEEBRIG delegation participated in OSCE’s FORUM for SECURITY COOPERATION (FSC), where sensitive issues had been discussed about negotiations on arms control, disarmament and security building measures for reduction of conflict risks.
Moreover, on the same day, COMSEEBRIG had the opportunity to attend the meeting of NATO countries ambassadors to OSCE, chaired by H.E. Ambassador Cristian ISTRATE. During the meeting BG Tudorică PETRACHE presented an information briefing about SEEBRIG background, mission, activities, challenges and way ahead.
Overall, this visit was a good opportunity for SEEBRIG HQ to increase the visibility among the relevant international organizations and to develop new lines of cooperation and training with OSCE.
