South-Eastern Europe Brigade (SEEBRIG) - formation established by seven participating nations in order to contribute to the regional security and stability in the Euro-Atlantic area

Euro-Atlantic Disaster Response Coordination Centre visit to SEEBRIG HQ, on 30th of January 2020, in Tyrnavos/Na-3

On 30th of January 2020 Mr. Wim VANHAMME – Deputy Director of Euro-Atlantic Disaster Response Coordination Centre (EADRCC) paid an official visit to SEEBRIG HQ in Camp SCHINA, Tyrnavos.
COMSEEBRIG BG Tudorică PETRACHE welcomed the guest during the office call and then an information briefing was presented about SEEBRIG’s history, mission, structure, capabilities, exercises, training and SEEDRO Concept. Afterwards, SEEBRIG HQ personnel were informed about EADRCC background, missions, program and accomplishments in their field of expertise. EADRCC is NATO’s principal civil emergency response mechanism in the Euro-Atlantic area. The Centre functions as a clearing-house system for coordinating both requests and offers of assistance, mainly in case of natural and man-made disasters.
The activity was very fruitful, having in consideration that two of SEEBRIG main missions are Disaster Relief Operations and Humanitarian Assistance. During the meeting, COMSEEBRIG discussed with Mr. Wim VANHAMME about common approaches related with these domains, participation to exercises and issues of mutual interest.
The Deputy Director of EADRCC visited also SEEBRIG HQ offices, Tactical Operation Center, physical training facilities and CIS equipment.
