COMSEEBRIG Participation in the Distinguished Visitors Day (DV Day) of Exercise “BLONDE AVALANCHE 2020”, Braila/Na-6, 10 September 2020

On 10 September 2020 Commander of SEEBRIG BG Aristeidis Iliopoulos participated in the Distinguished Visitors Day for the Exercise “Blonde Avalanche 2020” of the Multinational Engineer Battalion (MEB) “Tisa”, which was organized in Braila/Na-6.

MEB “Tisa” is a regional initiative with participation of Na-6, Hungary, Slovakia and Ukraine intended to train and coordinate in order to quickly respond to flooding and other natural disasters in the Tisa River Basin.

The exercise was based on a disaster relief scenario (flooding) and was conducted in the barracks of Na-6 10th Engineer Brigade with a practical demonstration of engineer troops activities in specific disaster relief situations organized in Varsatura Training Range.

The DV Day was attended by Na-6 DCHOD MG Vasile Tudor, Alabama National Guard Adjutant General MG Sheryl Gordon, Alabama National Guard Deputy Adjutant General MG Sylvester Cannon, Na-6 10th Engineer Brigade leadership and military attaches accredited in Na-6.

This was an opportunity to interact with another regional initiative with a Disaster Response focus, meet and discuss issues of mutual interest with the Na-6 DCHOD and other high-level participants and raise awareness about SEEBRIG mission and capabilities, in the light of the further development of South Eastern Europe Disaster Response Operations (SEEDRO) Concept.
