South-Eastern Europe Brigade (SEEBRIG) - formation established by seven participating nations in order to contribute to the regional security and stability in the Euro-Atlantic area

Evaluation Visit to Na-3 SEEBRIG Affiliated Units, 18-19 May 2021

According to SEEBRIG Annual Plan for 2021, a delegation from the SEEBRIG HQ, led by COMSEEBRIG BG Aristeidis Iliopoulos conducted an Evaluation Visit to units affiliated to SEEBRIG by Na-3, in order to assess their capabilities and readiness. In Thessaloniki SEEBRIG team was welcomed by MG Ioannis Intzes, Deputy Commander of NRDC-GR and former SEEBRIG HQ Chief of Staff, who wished them a fruitful visit.

On 18 May 2021 BG Aristeidis Iliopoulos had an official office call with COM NRDC-GR, LTG Anastasios Spanos at NRDC-GR HQ, where were discussed topics of mutual interest. Afterwards, the SEEBRIG delegation, accompanied by Engineer Brigade Commander, BG Haralampos Akrivos, moved to the Levanti Camp in Sindos. There, the HEPSEC (Hellenic Peace Support Engineer Company) demonstrated its operational capabilities and skills through three mini exercises dealing with PSO (Peace Support Operations) and DRO (Disaster Response Operations) scenarios.

The next day, the SEEBRIG delegation moved to Chalkidona in order to evaluate an affiliated Transportation Platoon. First, COMSEEBRIG had an official office call with Strategic Transportation Regiment Commander, BG Nektarios Tsamidis. Then, the SEEBRIG delegation moved to the Training Area, where the Transportation Platoon performed static demonstrations of its equipment and dynamic demonstrations of capabilities that confirmed its PSO readiness.

The evaluation visit was an opportunity for SEEBRIG HQ leadership and staff to familiarize themselves with the capabilities, training standards, facilities, equipment and weaponry systems of affiliated units and to strengthen the relationship with their personnel and key leaders.
