South-Eastern Europe Brigade (SEEBRIG) - formation established by seven participating nations in order to contribute to the regional security and stability in the Euro-Atlantic area

South-Eastern Europe Defense Ministerial (SEDM) Deputy Chiefs of Defense (DCHODs) Meeting, 10 June 2021 (VTC)

On 10 of June 2021, Commander of SEEBRIG (COMSEEBRIG) BG Aristeidis Iliopoulos along with senior representatives from the SEDM countries, from RACVIAC and SEESAC participated in the DCHODs Meeting. This event was organized by Croatia under the Albanian Chairmanship of SEDM-CC & PMSC, online (via VTC) due to COVID 19 pandemic restrictions.

During the meeting, the participants were informed about the SEEBRIG main activities since the last DCHODs Meeting, COVID-19 challenges, future activities, financial and personnel issues, as well as way ahead. During the meeting, the updated Annual Plan 2021 was presented and the exercise planning process for Seven Stars 2022 was introduced.

The representatives in the meeting expressed their satisfaction for the participation of SEEBRIG in exercises, courses and training in cooperation with NATO Centers of Excellences and other Training Centers, and also appreciated SEEBRIG HQ assessment regarding COVID-19 impact on SEEBRIG activities and on “Seven Stars 2021” Exercise.

The DCHODs of SEDM countries welcomed the report of COMSEEBRIG about the HQ SEEBRIG activities and expressed their appreciation to the COMSEEBRIG for his tireless work to enhance the effectiveness of the Brigade as an important element of the SEDM initiative to actively contribute to peace, security, stability and cooperation in South Eastern Europe.
