South-Eastern Europe Brigade (SEEBRIG) - formation established by seven participating nations in order to contribute to the regional security and stability in the Euro-Atlantic area


On 26th of August, 2021, CAMP BORO MENKOV, the home of SEEBRIG HQ, hosted the ceremony for the handover-takeover of the PMSC-CC/SEDM Chairmanship and the 22nd Anniversary of SEEBRIG.

The ceremony was attended by a delegation of Ministry of Defence of Nation 5 headed by the Minister of Defence, Mrs Radmila Shekerinska-Jankovska, and an extended number of guests from the SEDM community: Deputy Defence ministers, Deputy Chiefs of Defence, ambassadors, military attaches, representatives of different regional security organizations and other distinguished guests.

Once the guests were greeted by the COMSEEBRIG, BG Aristeidis ILIOPOULOS, the ceremony started with the inspection of the troops, the raising of the flags and the handover takeover of the SEDM flag between Mrs. Dallendyshe BICI, representing the outgoing Nation 1 Chaimanship and LTG Dimitar ILIEV, representing the incoming Nation 2 Chairmanship.

This was followed with speeches from the Defence Minister of Nation 5, and the representatives of the outgoing and incoming Chairmanship. In their addresses the distinguished speakers underlined the importance of SEDM initiative, the progress of the regional cooperation through the initiative, the constant reach for a common understanding and the success of the common activities initiated during these difficult times.

BG ILIOPOULOS thanked the outgoing Chairmanship for his support during his tenure and wished success to the new Chairmanship in their endeavor and, remembering to all presents that the day represents also the 22nd celebration of SEEBRIG, thanked the host nation for its commitment to the cause and expressed his best wishes to SEEBRIG staff and all present.
