South-Eastern Europe Brigade (SEEBRIG) - formation established by seven participating nations in order to contribute to the regional security and stability in the Euro-Atlantic area

SEEBRIG COMMANDER HANDOVER-TAKEOVER CEREMONY, 15 APRIL 2022, SKOPJE / NA-5

On 15th of April 2022, an official ceremony for the handover and takeover of SEEBRIG Commander was held in Skopje. The outgoing Commander, Major General Aristeidis ILIOPOULOS handed over command to his successor Brigadier General Evangelos MITROUTSIKOS.

In his speech Major General Aristeidis ILIOPOULOS said that he was honored and pleased to command a “multinational force that brings the countries of the region closer together, promoting peace and stability”. He expressed his gratitude for the continuous support and commitment of the Government of Na-5 for functioning of Brigade Headquarters.

The newly appointed Commander Brigadier General Evangelos MITROUTSIKOS said that it is an honor for him to lead the South-Eastern Europe Brigade in the next period and that he would work diligently to fulfil the tasks of SEEBRIG. “The South-Eastern Europe Brigade is committed to its contribution to regional security, stability and the development of good neighborly relations between member states”, said Brigadier General Evangelos MITROUTSIKOS.

The ceremony was held in the presence of SEDM Chairman, Chief of Defense of Na-5, Deputy Ministers of Defense, Deputy Chiefs of Defense, representatives of the Ministries of Defense of the MPFSEE member states, ambassadors, military attaches and representatives of the senior military and government leadership of the host nation.
