Brigadier General Neyko NENOV

Brig. General Neyko Nenov was born on November 18, 1961 in Trankovo, Yambol, Bulgaria.

He has a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a Master’s Degree in Strategic Studies from the United States Army War College.

His military education includes Land Force Academy “Vasil Levski” (1981-1985), Defense and Staff College “G.S.Rakovski, Sofia (1992-1994), and US Army War College at Carlisle, Pennsylvania (2001-2002). In addition he attended a 6 month course in Canadian Land Forces Command and Staff College in Kingston, Canada – 2000, and a six week course on Conducting Military and Peacekeeping Operations at United States Defense Institute of Legal Studies, Newport, Rhode Island – 2003.

He was commissioned in 1985 as infantry lieutenant and was assigned first as Platoon Commander, then Company Commander, Battalion Chief of staff, Battalion Commander, Regiment Commander, Brigade Chief of Staff and Brigade Commander.

On 6th of May 2005 he was promoted to the rank of Brigadier General.

He was appointed as the 4th Commander of SEEBRIG between 2005-2007.

Update: He passed away on 28 January 2015 while he was serving as Nation 2 DCHOD (Major General). His exceptional contributions to SEEBRIG as the 4th Commander of SEEBRIG will always be remembered and appreciated.
