BIOGRAPHY OF Brigadier General Tudorică PETRACHE
Brigadier General Tudorică PETRACHE was born in Drăgaşani / Romania, in 1963. He graduated Officers Military School “Nicolae Bălcescu” – Sibiu, as an infantry officer and attended Mountain Warfare Course – Predeal in 1985.
Brigadier General Tudorică PETRACHE served in various units as a platoon leader, reconnaissance company commander, chief S3, COS in a special operations battalion, commander of paratroopers battalion and Department Chief of General Staff Simulation Training Center.
Between 2007 and 2008 he served as Deputy Chief S3 in Irak at MND-CS. Between 2009- 2010 he was assigned as Chief of Division – liaison and mentoring NATO SOF and AFG SOF at ISAF HQs – Afganistan.
In 2010, he was appointed as COS at ROU/Special Operations Command. Between 2014 and 2017, he served as Commander of 2nd Mountain Brigade “SARMIZEGETUSA”. On 15th of March 2017 Brigadier General Tudorică PETRACHE was promoted as Deputy Chief Land Forces for Operations, Training and Doctrine.
He graduated Command and General Staff College – Bucharest in 1994, Brigade Staff Officers Course (1999) and Joint Operation Course (2001) at NATO PfP Regional Training Center – Bucharest, Post-graduate Land Forces Staff Course at National Defense University – Bucharest (2005) and Post-graduate Defense Intelligence Course at National Defense University – Bucharest (2011).
In 2009 he graduated PhD Military Studies at the National Defense University -Bucharest.
Brigadier General Tudorică PETRACHE, during his career, has been awarded with Medal “Praiseworthy” 3rd Class, Medal “In the Service of the Country” for 15, 20 and 25 years of active duty, Praiseworthy Medal of Polish Army, Romanian Air Force Medal of Honor and Intelligence Defense Medal of Honor.
He is married with Florentina PETRACHE and he has two sons (Cosmin – doctor and Mădălin – IT engineer).
His hobbies are parachuting, scuba diving, climbing and hiking. He speaks English.
