South-Eastern Europe Brigade (SEEBRIG) - formation established by seven participating nations in order to contribute to the regional security and stability in the Euro-Atlantic area

Participation of SEEBRIG personnel in “BOSNA I HERCEGOVINA 2017” exercise in Tuzla, 25 – 29 September 2017

SEEBRIG personnel participated in the field exercise “BOSNA I HERCEGOVINA 2017”, from 25th to 29th September 2017, in the city of Tuzla. The exercise was organized by the Euro-Atlantic Disaster Response Coordination Centre (EADRCC) and the Ministry of the Security (Mos) of Bosnia and Herzegovina organized.

SEEBRIG participated with 5 staff officers as bellow:

a. Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations, COL Ljupcho SPASEVSKI, (Na 5), as Directing Staff (DISTAFF)
b. Chief of G7, LTC Leonard ZHUPA (Na 1) and Chief G5, LTC Nikolay PARVANOV (Na 2), as On-site Operation Co-ordination Centre (OSOCC) members
c. G7 Plans officer MAJ Sotirios MAMALIS (Na 3) and G7 Operations officer CPT Octavian CISMARU (Na 6), as Engineer Task Force Response Cell

The exercise was based on a combined flood and earthquake scenario, linked to the type of geological and environmental challenges faced by Bosnia and Herzegovina. SEEBRIG Response Cell participated in the Virtual Reality Command Post exercise by training its disaster response capabilities with a variety of tasks, such as water purification, power supply, debris removal, bridge construction, earth moving and establishing check points.
The overall aim of the exercise was to enhance interoperability, exercise cooperation and contribute to enhancing national capabilities of NATO Allies and partners.
