South-Eastern Europe Brigade (SEEBRIG) - formation established by seven participating nations in order to contribute to the regional security and stability in the Euro-Atlantic area

Speech of COMSEEBRIG BG Tudorica PETRACHE at the Opening Ceremony of Exercise SEVEN STARS 2018, 10 November 2018, Tyrnavos/ Na3

Dear participants,

Ladies and gentlemen,

Good morning and welcome!

First of all, I would like to say that I am very pleased to see you all together gathered here, today, for the execution phase of Exercise Seven Stars 2018. On behalf of SEEBRIG HQ staff I would like to extend a very warm welcome to all the participants.

As you all know “Seven Stars” is the main training activity for us and its aim is to improve operational capabilities through exercising SEEBRIG HQ and the affiliated units, developing a common understanding of Peace Support Operations, Disaster Relief Operations and Humanitarian Assistance Operations. Furthermore, it is a good opportunity to practice NATO procedures, demonstrate CIS interoperability and properly manage the flow of information from HQ to units and vice-versa.

This is the twelfth “Seven Stars” exercise which is being performed by SEEBRIG. Each exercise had been built upon the Lessons Learned of previous ones and as a natural consequence, the level of expertise and proficiency has risen visibly over the years.

We have today as participants, valuable military personnel from our affiliated units and skilful augmentees from different organizations like NRDC-Gr, NRDC-Tur, NRDC-Esp, LITPOLUKR Bde, OSCE, Na-2 CoE and Na-3 Red Cross. This must be considered as an opportunity to increase the interoperability and cooperation among us and to add value to our exercise, by experience, lesson learned, professionalism and commitment.

The success of “Seven Stars 2018” is in your hands. I am sure that by working hard we can overtake any difficulties and issues that might emerge during the exercise and to achieve the goals and meet the expectations.

I am confident that your devotion and expertise will help very much and facilitate the expected outcomes in this exercise and I am sure that you will do your best in order to get remarkable results.

I would like to welcome all of you once again. Have a nice and fruitful work and use this occasion as an opportunity to expand your experiences and knowledge.

I am convinced that all capabilities and efforts directed towards promoting regional security in the region and conducting Peace Support Operations, Disaster Relief Operations and Humanitarian Assistance will definitely set SEEBRIG as an example. In the end, we must not forget our motto: “One team, one mission!”

Good luck and thank you very much for your efforts in advance.

GOD bless you all!
