South-Eastern Europe Brigade (SEEBRIG) - formation established by seven participating nations in order to contribute to the regional security and stability in the Euro-Atlantic area

Participation of SEEBRIG in Exercise “BALKAN BRIDGES 19” in Sofia/Na2, 30 Sep-04 Oct 2019

From 30th of September to 4th of October 2019, in National Military Training Center “Charalitsa”/Na-2, SEEBRIG took part as Primary Training Audience (PTA) in the Multinational Distributed Computer Assisted Exercise (CAX)/Command Post Exercise (CPX) “BALKAN BRIDGES 2019” (BB19). The purpose of the exercise was to improve and enhance the interoperability between the members of “Bucharest 9 (B9) Initiative” Armed Forces and their capabilities to adequately apply NATO procedures and comprehensive approach to any security concerns and risks related to a regional crisis in a joint environment.
In the exercise BB19, SEEBRIG played the role of “Multinational Brigade Alpha (MNBDE A)” and its HQ was augmented by military personnel from all 6 SEEBRIG nations and also from 3 member nations of South-East Europe Defense Ministerial Process (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Serbia). Under the command of MNBDE A there were SEEBRIG Affiliated Units which participated as Secondary Training Audience (STA) or as Response Cell (RC) located in Na-2 and at the simulation centers of their nations.
Distinguished guests (DCHODs, Military Attaches and other observers) from all the participated nations visited the exercise area and they were briefed about the concept of the exercise and main events, during the DV Day which took place on 3rd of October 2019.
The exercise was a great opportunity for SEEBRIG HQ to verify and review the SOPs in conducting Peace Support Operations, Disaster Relief Operations, Humanitarian Assistance and also to increase visibility among B9 Initiative and SEDM members.
SEEBRIG is grateful to all the participated nations, organizations and staff that took part in BB19 Exercise and especially to host nation which provided in a perfect way all the necessary means starting with the planning phase until the successful completion of the exercise.
