“Female Leaders in Security and Defence” Military Experts Meeting – “Defence and National Action Plan on UNSCR 1325 and related resolutions: where we are and future commitments”
From 26th to 27th of October 2021, two SEEBRIG staff members attended the Military Experts Meeting on SEDM Female Leaders in Security and Defence project, “Defence and National Action Plan on UNSCR 1325 and related resolutions: where we are and future commitments”, held online through VTC, under the organization of Italian Ministry of Defence in Rome.
The aim of this meeting was to share with SEDM FLSD community the commitments and actions in the implementation of UNSCR 1325, identify lessons learned, national approaches and to identify potential areas of cooperation.
Participants from SEDM member countries, RACVIAC and UNDP SEESAC addressed important topics such as: National Action Plan on Woman Peace Security agenda and in the Policy on equal opportunity, Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) projects and empowerment of the local female population and female military personnel in peacekeeping operations, lessons learned and best practices of military operations and activities related to the WPS agenda, as well as national experiences.
