Exercise SEVEN STARS-22 Main Planning Conference & Key Leader Training, 16 – 18 May 2022, Skopje/Na-5
According with the Seven Stars-22 (SS22) / Exercise Planning Process, the Main Planning Conference (MPC) and Key Leader Training (KLT) were conducted from 16th to 18th of May 2022, at Skopje/Na-5 (Army House). This was the first time that such a double role activity took place, since the SEEBRIG HQ relocation and new COM assignment. In addition to that, it is highlighted that it was the first step of SS-22 Planning Process, which was held with physical presence. Representatives from Na-1, Na-2, Na-3, Na-5, Na-6, Na-7, NRDC-GR, NRDC-T, MPSOTC and Affiliated Units Commanders participated to this event providing their respective contribution.
COMSEEBRIG BG Evangelos MITROUTSIKOS welcomed all the participants for being present to this important milestone and he expressed his sincere appreciation to MoD/Na-5 for supporting the execution of the event. Besides, he underlined that, even though the effects of the pandemic are expected to linger for some time, a gradual rebound has already started, filling us with hope for an even better training period in 2022, after two tough years. Moreover, COMSEEBRIG had the chance to provide Directive & Guidance for the Exercise Planning Process, to facilitate Team building, and to establish a common benchmark-level understanding of selected topics in preparation for the Exercise. He concluded his opening remarks, mentioning that the Training is the basic pillar in order to achieve an appropriate standard of proficiency for SEEBRIG units and staffs, and the key function is the interoperability.
The main goals of the activity were the finalization of the Manning List and reaching an agreement on the final draft of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). Furthermore, updates concerning EXPLAN, Scenario – MEL/MIL, Real Life Support, CIS, Operation Planning Process, Political/Legal – CIMIC aspects and FCC Expectations were presented by SEEBRIG Nucleus Staff. Affiliated Units Commanders briefed concerning their respective structure, equipment and capabilities. Additionally, important contribution was provided by external instructors who covered issues regarding the framework of Peace Support Operations.
At the end of the aforementioned activity, COS SEEBRIG Zlatko GJORGJIOVSKI thanked all the participants, he underscored that was a fruitful and productive event and he expressed his confidence about the success of Exercise “SEVEN STARS 2022”.
