South-Eastern Europe Brigade (SEEBRIG) - formation established by seven participating nations in order to contribute to the regional security and stability in the Euro-Atlantic area

Evaluation Visit to Na-5 SEEBRIG Affiliated Units, 07-08 April 2021

A SEEBRIG HQ evaluation team, led by the Commander, BG Aristeidis Iliopoulos, conducted an evaluation visit to Na-5 affiliated units from 07 to 08 April 2021.

The activity started in Skopje, visiting Ministry of Defense where Mrs. Radmila Shekerinska Jankovska welcomed SEEBRIG representatives to their first official meeting. SEEBRIG Commander thanked for the warm welcome and all the support that Host Nation has provided to SEEBRIG and informed the minister about the most significant upcoming activities that need to be supported by the Host Nation.

Furthermore, the meeting with the Chief of General Staff of the Army LTG Vasko Gjurcinovski was an opportunity to talk about ongoing activities and future plans of SEEBRIG, as well as the preparation and planning process for the exercise SEVEN STARS 2021, with a plan for SEEBRIG affiliated units to conduct a Field Training Exercise. Chief of General Staff of the Army authorized direct liaison between SEEBRIG HQ, Operations Command and Training and Doctrine Command in order to
have efficient and successful preparation and execution of the exercise.

The visit continued on the Training Area Krivolak were the SEEBRIG delegation conducted operational evaluation of the affiliated Engineer Platoon. After the information briefing, the Engineer Platoon conducted an exercise to show its capabilities for repairing a damaged road, caused by landslide.

The following day SEEBRIG delegation visited Operations Command in Kumanovo, where the Commander, MG Pavle Arsovski, emphasized the high level of cooperation between this two units. The visit continued in Shtip where SEEBRIG Evaluation Team was welcomed by 1st Infantry Brigade Commander and 2nd Infantry Battalion Commander, the higher commands of the 1st Infantry Company, a SEEBRIG affiliated unit. The Company Commander briefed the delegation about his unit just before operational evaluation started.

A comprehensive exercise was conducted at the end of the evaluation to summarise and prove the operational capabilities of the company to fulfill all tasks assigned.

The evaluation visit was an opportunity for SEEBRIG HQ leadership and staff to familiarize themselves with the capabilities, training standards, facilities, equipment and weaponry systems of affiliated units and to strengthen the relationship with their personnel and key leaders.
