South-Eastern Europe Brigade (SEEBRIG) - formation established by seven participating nations in order to contribute to the regional security and stability in the Euro-Atlantic area

SEEBRIG HQ’s study trip, 03 – 07 JULY 2023

According to SEEBRIG HQ Annual Plan, the personnel of SEEBRIG HQ and their families went through a Study Trip in North Macedonia.

The purpose of the activity was to be familiar with military installation/ units and as well as to explore the beautiful  of North Macedonia, cultural heritage sights, natural beauties and tourist attractions in part of the country.

The trip started from Skopje and first stop was “Leshok monastery” near Tetovo, where hosts give a presentation about history of the monastery, the trip continued to Mavrovo national park and visiting regional info center and tour in safari park. In Mavrovo personnel and their families accommodated and experienced a horse riding tour and had it opportunity to taste traditional prepared food and cheese made in region.

According to the program SEEBRIG HQ personnel visited two military units of Na-5 Army, 3rd Infantry Battalion based in Tetovo and 4th Infantry Battalion based in Kichevo. Presentation of the units and static demonstration of the equipment and capabilities were provided by their respective unit commanders

According to scheduled program were visited the cave “Sharkova dupka” in Mavrovo, “Rajcicha” monastery near Debar. The trip  continued to Vevcani springs and accommodated in Ohrid for next two days where participants of this study trip had the opportunities to enjoy beautiful places in the South West part of North Macedonia including  Ohrid and  Struga.

SEEBRIG HQ personnel and their families made a visit to Bitola “Isak Chelebi Mosque” after short presentation done from the Imam of the Mosque trip continued to Dojran where the personnel and their families were accommodated.

Finally a visit to city of Dojran and to the historical monuments, like Turkis Bath, Clock Tower and also Koleshino waterfalls and Smolare waterfalls near Strumica, took place.

The study trip was appreciated as a success from all the participants and COMSEEBRIG express his thanks to the Host Nation for the way this trip was organized and how the personnel was received in all the visited places.
