Strengthening Regional Cooperation: SEEBRIG Commander Visits EUFOR Headquarters at Camp “Butmir”
Commander of the South-Eastern Europe Brigade (SEEBRIG), Brigadier General Bilbil BITRI, on October 8, paid an official visit to Headquarters EUFOR at Camp Butmir, Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, where he was warmly received by Major General Florin Marian BARBU, Commander of EUFOR Althea.
The meeting served as an opportunity to exchange views on the current security landscape in the region. Discussions focused on enhancing regional cooperation, promoting mutual understanding, and exploring opportunities for joint activities and training that strengthen peace support capabilities.
During the talks, Major General BARBU emphasized EUFOR’s enduring mission under Operation Althea, highlighting the importance of close collaboration with local and regional partners. Brigadier General BITRI expressed SEEBRIG’s readiness to deepen its engagement with EUFOR, noting the mutual benefits of increased coordination among multinational formations dedicated to peace and stability in Southeastern Europe.
The visit concluded with a shared recognition that trust, transparency, and teamwork are essential to achieving long-term peace and stability. Together, SEEBRIG and EUFOR stand as partners in promoting security, collaboration, and peace across the region.
