South-Eastern Europe Brigade (SEEBRIG) - formation established by seven participating nations in order to contribute to the regional security and stability in the Euro-Atlantic area

South-Eastern Europe Defense Ministerial meeting, 27 November 2025, Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina

The annual meeting of the Defense Ministers and representatives of SEDM Nations was held in in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the participation of representatives of several regional organisations, to promote a constructive regional military collaboration in South-Eastern Europe (SEE). This was the first meeting under the Chairmanship of the Hellenic Republic.

COMSEEBRIG, BG Bilbil BITRI, informed Ministers of Defense on the activities and achievements during 2025, emphasizing the exercise “SEVEN STARS 25” as the best opportunity for SEEBRIG to test its operational planning capability and the ability to conduct PSOs. While presenting the main objectives for the year 2026 aligned with the core SEEBRIG mission, he underlined Readiness- Relevance, and Relocation as the focus for the upcoming year.

BG Bilbil BITRI, reiterated the importance of adaptation and transformation of SEEBRIG to stand the current challenges.

During the meeting, the Member States reaffirmed their commitment to further enhance political and military cooperation in SEE in order to strengthen regional security and stability and agreed on the need to bring SEDM to its full potential by improving the engagement of the SEDM Member States in the political-military dialogue formats and projects within the initiative.
