South-Eastern Europe Brigade (SEEBRIG) - formation established by seven participating nations in order to contribute to the regional security and stability in the Euro-Atlantic area

SEEBRIG and OSCE mission to Skopje training together – First Aid and Trauma Course

Between 24–25 February 2026, the South-Eastern Europe Brigade (SEEBRIG) Headquarters (HQ) conducted a two-day “First Aid and Trauma Course” at the HQ’ Tactical Operations Centre in Kumanovo, North Macedonia. The training was delivered by MEDUCATION International Medical Training Institute from Athens, Greece, and brought together SEEBRIG personnel alongside representatives of the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe – OSCE Mission to Skopje.

The course was designed to enhance participants’ theoretical knowledge and practical competencies in first aid procedures and trauma management, with a particular focus on timely and effective response in operational environments. Through a combination of structured lectures, scenario-based exercises, and hands-on practice, attendees strengthened their capacity to react decisively in emergency situations, thereby contributing to the overall operational readiness of the Brigade.

A total of 26 participants successfully completed the training. The closing ceremony was attended by the Head of the OSCE Mission to Skopje, Ambassador Kilian Wahl, who, together with the Course Director and COMSEEBRIG, presented certificates to the graduates. Their presence underscored the importance of continued cooperation and joint efforts in building resilient and capable institutions in support of regional stability.

This activity represents another concrete step in reinforcing the partnership between SEEBRIG and international stakeholders. It reflects SEEBRIG’s enduring commitment to fostering transparency, mutual trust, and interoperability through practical cooperation and joint training initiatives. While SEEBRIG has been located in Kumanovo since 2020, the Mission to Skopje is the OSCE’s longest-serving field operation, which has been supporting North Macedonia’s institutions in advancing reforms that strengthen the rule of law, democratic governance and social cohesion since 2001.

In accordance with the provisions of the Multinational Peace Force South-Eastern Europe (MPFSEE) Agreement, SEEBRIG remains prepared for potential employment in United Nations- or OSCE-mandated peace support and humanitarian operations, conducted under the leadership of NATO or the European Union, upon declaration of operational readiness. Engagements such as this training activity with the OSCE Mission to Skopje are fully aligned with SEEBRIG’s mandate and its long-term strategic vision of contributing to cooperative and comprehensive security across the region.
