COMSEEBRIG Participation in the Distinguished Visitors Day (DV Day) of Exercise “DECISIVE STRIKE 21”, Krivolak/Na-5, 31 May 2021
On 31 May 2021 Commander of SEEBRIG BG Aristeidis Iliopoulos participated in the DV Day for the Exercise “Decisive Strike 21”, which was organized in Na-5 Army Training Area “Krivolak”.
The “Decisive Strike 21” exercise was part of the biggest NATO exercise for this year, “Defender Europe 21”. In “Decisive Strike 21” exercise participated 1500 military personnel from 4 NATO nations – Na-5, USA, Na-3 and Na-2. The focus of the exercise was demonstration of a high level of interoperability, combat readiness and integration of NATO procedures well as integration of the conventional and special forces.
On the DV Day were presented offensive operations and activities of the infantry and special forces of the participating nations, supported by helicopters from the Na-5 Air Brigade and F16 fighter jets from Na-3 Air Force.
The DV Day was attended by the President of Na-5, Stevo Pendarovski, the President of the Assembly, Talat Xhaferi, the President of the Government, Zoran Zaev, the Minister of Defense, Radmila Shekerinska, the ministers in the Government Oliver Spasovski, Venko Filipche and Fatmir Besimi, the Minister of Defense of Montenegro, Olivera Injac, the Chief of Na-5 General Staff, Lieutenant General Vasko Gjurchinovski, the ambassador of Na-1, Fatos Reka, the ambassador of Na-3, Roussos Koundouros, the ambassador of the USA, Kate Marie Byrns, representatives from the Assembly Committee of Defense and Security, distinguished military and civil representatives from the participating nations and NATO, as well as defense attachés accredited in Na-5.
This was an opportunity to meet with the high-level participants and discuss issues of mutual interest and also raise awareness about SEEBRIG mission and capabilities.
