COMSEEBRIG visit to SEDM-CC/PMSC Secretariat, 01-02 November 2023, Bucharest, Na-6
On the invitation of the SEDM-CC/ PMSC Secretariat Chairperson, Ms. Simona COJOCARU, the COMSEEBRIG, Brigadier General Bilbil BITRI, conducted a visit to Bucharest, Romania (Na-6).
The purpose of the visit was to coordinate the work and strengthen cooperation for the achievement of the objectives of the SEDM initiative and more specifically the SEEBRIG mission as the military instrument of this initiative.
The visit represented an excellent opportunity for interaction, strengthen the relationship, and above all for the exchange of ideas as plans for the achievement of already set goals.
The focus discussion with Ms. COJOCARU was facing the challenges posed by the current security environment in the region and other parts of the world, as well as the proactive engagement of SEEBRIG. In this context, special importance should be devoted to cooperation and interaction with other international actors (NATO and EU) in the region.
Part of the agenda were also meetings with Deputy Chief of Staff LTG Vlad GHEORGHITA as well as with the Deputy Chief of Land Forces of Na-6 Army MG Cristian DAN, who expressed their willingness to support SEEBRIG mission and tasks through an increased cooperation and interaction with the affiliated units and exploring training and exercise opportunities that would include CAX as well.
During the meeting with COL Adrian COSTARU, Commander of 9th Mechanized Brigade, COMSEEBRIG shared opinions and ideas for strengthening communication and joint training among SEEBRIGs affiliated units. On this occasion, COMSEEBRIG participated in the 145th anniversary celebrations of 9th Mechanized Brigade “Mărășești”.
At the meeting held in the MND SE command with Commander MG Dorin TOMA, it was discussed on exploring opportunities to exchange experience and joint training with this similar structure with SEEBRIG, which enables cooperation in different fields of interest.
The visit to EARC was very interesting, given that it is a new center that represents an inter-agency hub and research body, tasked with promoting and pursuing NATO and EU resilience targets, which in a short time since its establishment, has become recognizable in the relevant international environment. The discussion took place in the direction of finding common interest for the purpose of future cooperation.
The warm welcome of the hosts, as well as their unreserved support to SEEBRIG, undoubtedly represents an imperative for SEEBRIG in its further work.
Above mentioned visits showed excellent and successful cooperation between SEEBRIG and SEDM-CC/PMSC Secretariat and represented a significant element towards strengthening the primary goal, namely, to contribute to regional security and stability while promoting harmonious relationship among South-Eastern European countries.
