South-Eastern Europe Defense Ministerial meeting, 06 November 2024, Tirana, Albania
Defense Ministers and representatives of SEDM Nations gathered in Tirana, Albania, alongside with representatives of regional organizations in a fruitful and successful meeting, to promote constructive regional military collaboration in South-Eastern Europe (SEE) in order to consolidate and enhance cooperation, stability, and security in the region.
Chaired by the Chairperson of SEDM-CC/PMSC Ms. Simona COJUCARU focused on strengthening the regional cooperation, the need of revitalization of the SEDM initiative and the relevance of SEEBRIG as an important tool to contribute to regional security.
While presenting main activities for 2024, SEEBRIG Commander, BG Bilbil BITRI, underlined the working visits in UN HQ, NATO HQ and JFC Naples, emphasizing the relevance of a closer and intensive interaction of SEEBRIG with NATO entities, aiming and enabling transformation and adaptation of SEEBRIG to better face challenges of the current security environment. The planned activities for 2025 will contribute to the achievement of main objectives to maintain the readiness and increase interoperability though interaction and cooperation with affiliated units and other regional and international organizations, and to fulfil the mission of SEEBRIG.
All participants reaffirmed their commitment to common SEDM projects that will contribute to further enhancing political and military cooperation
in South-East Europe.
