A delegation led by the Commander of the South-Eastern Europe Brigade (SEEBRIG), Brigadier General Bilbil BITRI, conducted a twofold mission – evaluation and reconnaissance to Türkiye, 10-11 December, 2025.
The First Stop: 8th Mechanized Infantry Brigade
On 10 December, 2025, the first stop of the SEEBRIG delegation was a courtesy call with the Commander of the 8th Mechanized Infantry Brigade, Brigadier General Aytuğ YÖRÜYÜŞ. Brigadier General YÖRÜYÜŞ extended a very warm welcome to the SEEBRIG delegation.
Following an excellent luncheon with the host commander and the SEEBRIG team, the delegation proceeded to inspect the units stationed at Beşiktepe. A comprehensive briefing was presented by the Commander of the 2nd Mechanised Infantry Battalion, Lieutenant Colonel Eray OĞLAKCI. Upon the conclusion of the briefing, the troops and facilities were inspected on site.
Throughout the evaluation visit, the units demonstrated the highest level of readiness. Specifically, Lieutenant Colonel Eray OĞLAKCI, Commander of the Battalion, Lieutenant Abdullah ÖZDEMİR, Commander of the Reconnaissance Company, and Lieutenant Köksal MUSLİ, Commander of the Artillery Battery, and their respective units were observed to be at an optimal state of preparedness. All units and their commanders showed that they are ready to undertake any mission assigned to them at the highest possible standard.
NRDC-T and SEEBRIG Relocation Discussions
On December 11, 2025, a visit concerning the SEEBRIG relocation was carried out at the Headquarters of NATO Rapid Deployable Corps (NRDC)-Türkiye.
COMSEEBRIG, Brigadier General Bilbil BITRI and Lieutenant General Rasim YALDIZ, Commander of NRDC-Türkiye, held a meeting to discuss matters pertaining to the upcoming (2026) SEEBRIG change of station/relocation. Subsequently, the SEEBRIG delegation conducted an on-site inspection of the SEEBRIG Headquarters and Quarters in Istanbul.
Both the evaluation and reconnaissance visits provided an excellent opportunity to meet with key personnel and SEEBRIG Affiliated Units in Türkiye, thereby strengthening the bilateral relations. Furthermore, critical issues regarding the SEEBRIG relocation were discussed.
